About Us

Thank you for visiting our branch of the Farley Family on the World Wide Web.

We are documenting the descendants of Thomas Farley, who, in May 1820, was married at St. Peter's Collegiate Church, in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire.

His wife, Maria Brindley, possibly had been baptized, in September 1800, at the same church. Without her father's name in the marriage register, we do not know who her parents were.

Thomas and Maria had three children before Thomas's untimely death.

The eldest died a teenager. Her two siblings married and had children.

Thomas and Maria's son, William Farley, is my ancestor. Their daughter, Sarah, married John Fletcher. So our wider family includes the Fletchers of Wolverhampton and Birmingham.

Thomas Farley's widow, Maria (née Brindley) Farley, married again in July 1833. With her second husband, George Hickman, she had a further five children. Maria's DNA is shared by her Farley and her Hickman children.

All of us, sharing descent from Maria Brindley, are combined here as the Farleys of Wolverhampton.
